Defensive Driving

With the new Michigan Basic Driver Improvement Course (BDIC) online program, learning to drive defensively just got easier and more economical. The National Safety Council's latest Internet-based driver-training program is based on the same content as the Defensive Driving Course (DDC) for the classroom. This program is approved by the Michigan Department of State for ticket dismissal. For more information about this program click here.

More than 65 million drivers have learned to protect themselves on the road by taking part in National Safety Council programs. It's the most comprehensive content of any major driver improvement self-study program.

The goal of the Basic Driver Improvement Course is to train drivers in collision prevention techniques while promoting an attitude of mutual understanding, courtesy and cooperation on the road.

With the Michigan Basic Driver Improvement Course you can receive this training at your convenience via the Internet. Using state-of-the-art animation, sound and graphics, the online version offers an engaging, interactive learning environment where students analyze real driving situations, spot driving hazards, and identify the correct defenses -- and the bookmark feature allows you to exit out the course whenever you want and return to where you left off as often as you like.

You can receive an Official Certificate of Completion from the National Safety Council that can be used to lower automobile insurance rates. Check with your insurance carrier to see if you qualify.
